From the designer:

"This pullover is worked in the round from the bottom up, with a mantle of stars decorating the circular yoke. The star motifs, worked in purls and traveling stitches, are adapted from a traditional Danish design cataloged by Vivian Høxbro, but my choice to place them in a ring below the neckline is influenced by Shetland yoke patterning. The effect also reminds me of an American quilt pattern with clustered stars known as the Seven Stars or Seven Sisters--perhaps in reference to the Pleiades in Greek mythology and astronomy. This pattern was first published in By Hand Serial’s Issue 6, which focused on making communities in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the name seemed fitting in homage to quilting as an important art form in that region."
